Cavalcade of Lights (Nathan Phillips Square)

Celebrate holiday magic in Toronto during the Cavalcade of Lights.

Glide into the holiday spirit with nightly ice skating and marvel at the enchanting light installations adorning Nathan Phillips Square.

This year’s Cavalcade of Lights embraces the theme of illumination, cross-cultural celebration and winter activity, highlighting Toronto’s diversity through music, dance, skating, visual arts and site animation.

The festival will once again feature Toronto’s official Christmas tree and more than 300,000 energy-efficient LED lights, illuminating Nathan Phillips Square nightly from dusk until 11 p.m.

Whitby Santa Claus Parade

The Whitby Santa Claus Parade has been held on the first Saturday of December for 50+ years. An event for all ages, the Whitby Santa Claus Parade showcases over 50 organizations holiday spirit as they walk along the Brock St. parade route. The Whitby Santa Claus Parade was organized by JCI Durham for the first 50 years of the parades history. The Optimist Club of Brooklin, Ontario took over the organization of the parade in 2022 and looks forward to continuing the traditions that JCI Durham started.

Toronto Children's Chorus

The Toronto Children's Chorus (TCC) is a vibrant musical community that has been nurturing young voices for generations. Led by internationally-acclaimed Artistic Director Zimfira Poloz, the TCC is proud to have been a cornerstone of choral excellence in Toronto and Canada for 48 years. 

This year, TCC’s popular annual holiday concert will take you on a journey to the movies. Enjoy familiar heart-warming tunes and be transported into classic holiday movies with songs from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Elf, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Home Alone, The Sound of Music, and Frozen.

The TCC, with choir programs for ages four through 18, provides exceptional music, vocal and performance training. The Chorus presents a concert series each season and regularly collaborates with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and other Toronto performing arts organizations.

Throughout the TCC’s illustrious history, its senior choir, TCC Chamber Choir, has graced world-renowned stages including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, and The Dom in Salzburg. As choral ambassadors, the TCC has represented Canada on 33 international tours and eight national tours, and has earned accolades at several prestigious competitions, including the International Eisteddfod in Wales, the Let the Peoples Sing competition in Europe, the CBC National Radio Competition, and the International ChoralKathaumixw.  In summer 2026 TCC Chamber Choir will travel to Asia to be Resident Choral Artist at the World Choir Festival-Hong Kong and a guest choir at Voices of the World International Singing Festival in Singapore.
